I never had a problem with it on my p2-300/Voodoo2 but some people always complained. I have lowered the entity count, cleaned up some duplicate textures, removed the hook pain fields from the ceiling, gotten a little more colorful too. This map runs soooooo much smoother for everyone, and has less SZ_GETSPACE overflow messages too.... (caused by the wide open map) Added about 3-4 new additional spawn points. The bogus ceiling area i had before is now accessible (via hook), not much reason to go up there, but people alway's asked why i had it "look" like you could go up there. The music has been reduced to [BC]'s favorite "table dance" lowering the required amount of custom .wavs, and possible another "lag" reducer side-effect. Map "lighting" looks fine on tested Voodoo 1, Voodoo2, TNT1, and GeForce 2 cards on quality monitors (ViewSonic and SamSung, 15" thru 19") -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * VERSION 1 : LEVEL DESCRIPTION * -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is Co-Pilot's (i believe the original author) classic ARMAGON map, cleaned up a bit, and expanded/converted into a TRI-circle arena of death. The [BC] crew loves the original ARMAGON so much, i figured I would expand it a bit and wreck more havoc on our lives. YES - the R_Speeds CAN exceed 1000 if you are looking from one end to the very other end. Don't look around, you should be fragging. I have lowered the highest R's by around 220 by usings some func_walls, and other various little tricks -- but there is no way that i see to lower them anymore the way it is designed. If you can see HOW, drop me a line, because I would like to learn. I just don't see WHERE a HINT brush could be placed to benefit this map. Those nasty GRAPPLING HOOK sky huggers (Truzenzuzex - you are one wacked out freaking pimp daddy hooker!) will find some trigger traps up at the ceiling level, that should keep you from hanging up high for extended periods of time. The lava is HOT, i mean really hot. It radiates heat and pain, I would avoid as much as possible. There are a few custom textures, but nothing burdening to the user. There are (3) custom WAV sounds, if you don't get the MAP from a FTP/WEB download then you never will -- because KP servers do NOT send sounds down to the client -- bummer. The (4) wavs are NOOKIE (from Optimizer's DMarean2 map), AIC-GRIND (from my FRENZY conversion map), and a new TABLEDANCE (swiped from {420}Mayhem's web page) -- each circle of death has its own custom death music. There is also nice bubbly LAVA6 environment sound (from Turbo's Brutal map). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS / ADDITIONAL INFORMATION * -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unzip the *.BSP file to your kingpin directory (using the sub-dir extract command) or just visit the [BC]'s CAP-N-YO-ASS game server and get it downloaded to you automatically. I have included my SOURCE .MAP file in case you are curious. Mainly so if i lose my source I can find it later.
