FEBRUARY 2004
Believe it or not, I am no longer actively using my own software to track my comic collection.

I have switched to using Peter Bickford's COMICBASE 10.x software. You can visit their web site at http://www.human-computing.com. Their software has finally reached the point where it handles 93% (especially now that there are weekly updates of title information and price guide updates from CBG) of my needs, and since I have not had time to update my own program since 1994, it seemed time to move on. Hopefully Peter and crew will take all my bug/enhancement reports to heart, and accept me as a dedicated, extremely detailed power user. For those using the ComicBase Deluxe Archive addition I have created a cover gallery area to fill in the missing gaps on the existing 100,000+ covers included.

My software will stay here indefinitely, still free for those who want to use it. Before you ask about how I exported my KIS data into COMICBASE, I didn't. I have had my KIS data exported to a MS Access file for about a year, using the KIS export, but had massaged the data beyond original recognition. My export format is pretty simple, and if there were enough people needing help I'm sure some simple import utility could be written.

I appreciate all the user support and comments over the past 18 years. Later!

MARCH 2001
KIS has been released 100% free, with very, very limited support via e-mail. Grab the files below to get the software and the free registation codes. This software is now 18 years old and hasn't been updated since June 1994. KIS still works on all systems from DOS 5.0 all the way to Windows XP Professional. A special thanks to Charles at www.comiclist.com for all his pimping of my program over the years.
